The Maaser mobile application (“the App”, “we”) helps you track your donations, income, expenses, and maaser-related obligations. This page describes what data is collected, why, and your rights.

You can use the App only with an account. If you create an account, you can sign in in three ways:
Google (OAuth): name and email address provided by Google.
Email and password: email and password managed by Firebase Authentication (Google). Your password is never stored in the App on your device.
Username and password: you choose a username and a password. The username is stored in our Firebase Firestore database (auth_usernames collection) to allow sign-in by username; it is linked to your account ID and email. The password is managed only by Firebase Authentication.
Your unique account ID (Firebase UID) is used to sync your data across devices when you are signed in.

Names of people, amounts, notes, dates, categories, tags, work time, and other financial or personal information you voluntarily record
App settings (language, theme, filters, etc.)
When you are signed in, your data may be synced to Google Firebase servers (Google Cloud), including:
your lists and records;
cloud backups (Premium feature);
wallet adjustments;
user profile (email and name, encrypted on the server).
If you contact support from the App: name, email, subject, and message content.
Device identifiers and technical data needed for the App to work;
error logs;
Firebase Analytics: usage statistics (aggregated or anonymized events depending on Google’s configuration).
The App may display Google AdMob ads. Google may collect advertising identifiers and data related to ad delivery, in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.
If you subscribe to Premium via Google Play, payment is handled entirely by Google. We do not receive your bank details; we only receive confirmation that the subscription is active.
We use this data to:
provide App features (calculations, lists, wallet, analytics, backups);
authenticate your account and sync your data across devices;
enable sign-in by email or username;
respond to support requests;
improve stability and user experience;
display ads (free version);
manage Premium subscriptions via Google Play.
Performance of a contract: providing the requested service.
Legitimate interest: security, service improvement, support.
Consent: when required (e.g. notifications, personalized ads depending on your device settings).
We do not sell your data. It may be processed by:
Google (Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, AdMob, Google Play Billing) — Google Privacy Policy
These providers act as processors under their cloud services.
Data is stored while your account is active.
Data entered without an account stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
You can delete your account and associated data directly in the App:

Delete account
Confirm (Google or password depending on your sign-in method)
What this deletes:
your Firebase account (Google, email, or username);
your data on our servers (lists, cloud backups, profile, wallet, etc.);
local data linked to that account on the device, as far as technically possible.
Timing: server deletion is usually immediate; technical backup copies at Google may remain for a short period under their own rules.
Without access to the App: you can request deletion by email at maasersupport@gmail.com, stating your account email address.
Name and email are stored encrypted on the device (Android EncryptedSharedPreferences when available).
Some data sent to the cloud may be encrypted before transmission.
Communication with our servers uses HTTPS (encryption in transit).
No system is 100% secure.
Depending on your country, you may request:
access to your data;
rectification or deletion;
restriction or objection to certain processing;
data portability.

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data.
This policy may be updated. The date at the top will be changed accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the new version.
