WEEK 1

It was a mix of nervous excitement and professional curiosity. The day began with an orientation session where the principal discussed the school’s vision, mission, and the specific code of conduct expected from both students and faculty. I was introduced to my Cooperating Teacher (CT), a seasoned educator who immediately made me feel welcome. We spent the afternoon reviewing her class schedule, discussing the syllabus for the quarter, and going over the faculty handbook. She emphasized the importance of punctuality and professional dress code.

WEEK 2

This week, I took a backseat to observe. I stepped into the TLE laboratory/classroom and immediately noticed how the physical space dictated student interaction. The room was arranged in clusters rather than rows, facilitating the collaborative nature of TLE projects.

WEEK 3
The energetic buzz of the classroom was replaced by a focused silence this week as the 1st Quarter Exams commenced. My role shifted from observer to administrative assistant. I helped proctor the exams, ensuring academic integrity was maintained. Afterward, the real work began: checking papers and recording scores. I assisted my CT in encoding the raw scores into the class record, double-checking every entry for accuracy.

WEEK 4

As I sat at the back of the classroom, I observed how my Cooperating Teacher handled the class with calmness and confidence. The students were focused on their work, and I could clearly hear her giving simple and clear instructions. She walked around to check their progress, helping those who needed support without disrupting others. From my seat, I saw how her approach kept the class organized and engaged. Watching her made me realize the importance of patience, clarity, and consistency in teaching, and it gave me ideas I hope to apply in my own future lessons.

WEEK 5

From the back of the room, I watched the students work on their laptops as they created their presentations. With our teacher’s guidance, they learned how technology helps them organize ideas, design slides, and express their creativity. The laptops made the lesson more engaging and helped the students build skills they can use in the future.

This week was another week of observation, and we spent most of our time in the computer lab while the students finalized their presentations. I watched how they collaborated, helped each other, and tried to improve their work. Even though I was only observing, I learned a lot about how students behave in a more hands-on environment. It showed me how important guidance and patience are, especially when learners are working on tasks that require creativity and technical skills.

WEEK 7

This week was the distribution of report cards and the recognition of learners. I observed how teachers prepared the documents and how parents eagerly checked their children’s progress. It was a busy but meaningful day, filled with both proud and emotional moments. Watching students receive recognition made me appreciate the importance of acknowledging their hard work. Even as an FS 1 student, seeing this process reminded me of the responsibility and joy that come with being a teacher.

WEEK 8

When I finally stood in front of the class during my Field Study 1, I felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. I was used to observing from the back, but being the one teaching made everything feel more real. My hands shook a little at first, but seeing the students listen and respond gave me confidence. I realized that teaching isn’t just about explaining lessons—it’s about connecting with learners and guiding them patiently. Even though it was challenging, the experience made me feel sure that I’m in the right path and that teaching is something I genuinely want to do.

WEEK 9

This week, we celebrated Teachers’ Day, and I didn’t expect to be part of it since we’re only taking FS 1. But the teachers and students still included us, which made me feel appreciated and encouraged. Even as observers, being recognized reminded me why I chose this path. It was a simple celebration, but it motivated me even more to become a teacher someday.

WEEK 10

This week was Science Week, and the school held a “Ginoo at Binibining Agham” competition. As an FS 1 student, it was exciting to observe how the event brought out the students’ creativity, confidence, and knowledge. The atmosphere was lively, and everyone was supportive. Watching the contestants present themselves and showcase their talents made me appreciate how events like this help build students’ skills beyond the classroom. Even though I was just observing, it was a fun and meaningful experience to witness the school community celebrating science in such an engaging way.

WEEK 11

This week, the school conducted an earthquake drill to ensure that both students and teachers know what to do in case a real one happens. I observed how the teachers guided the learners, reminding them to stay calm, drop, cover, and hold. It was a serious but important activity, and it showed me how schools prioritize safety and preparedness. As an FS 1 student, it reminded me that a teacher’s role goes beyond the classroom they also help ensure the well-being of every learner.

WEEK 12

This week was the Intramurals, and our class had a booth where we also sold snacks. Our cooperating teacher let us, student teachers, experience everything from preparing and managing the booth to interacting with the students. It was tiring, but also fun and memorable. Being part of the event showed me how much effort teachers put into making activities successful and gave me a glimpse of their responsibilities beyond the classroom.
