America Recycles Day  It is the only nationally-recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States! Held on and around November 15, America Recycles Day educates and encourages individuals on how to be more mindful of what they consume, where and how to properly recycle, and to pledge to recycle more and recycle right in their everyday lives.   

National Green Week  National Green Week is an annual event that empowers schools to engage in sustainability focused lessons, projects or activities between the first full week in February and the end of Earth Month (April). Participating districts, schools, classrooms or youth groups choose a week, then select from GEF's sustainability focused programs to be their ‘green theme.’  Each theme provides 5 day standards-based lesson sets, activities, recommended reading, sustainability tips, contests, and more! Join over 10,000 schools and 5 million students in the largest sustainability education program running! 

Earth Day  Earth Day, celebrated April 22, encourages people from around the globe to participate in an environmental movement. Toolkits, media guides, teach-in/event registration along with many other resources can be found on the Earth Day website.. 

International Compost Awareness Week  International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) is the largest and most comprehensive education initiative of the compost industry. It is celebrated nationwide and in other countries each year during the first full week of May. The goal of ICAW is to work together to raise public awareness on why we all should be composting our organics recycling and using compost.

MFAA/MASBO Expo - November 15, 2022  MA Statewide School Waste Reduction & Diversion Working Group (Green SWoRD) will table at this event to introduce Sustainability Policies and Programs to School Facilities Administrators and School Business Officials.
