Trace is from North Ogden, UT and Brooke is from Menan, Idaho which is between Idaho Falls and Rexburg. Trace and Brooke met in a YSA ward in North Ogden UT and have been married for 33 years. They've lived in Mapleton for 26 years, moving to Mapleton when Trace finished his residency program in Pediatric Dentistry and took a job in Provo.
The Lunds have 4 grown, married kids, and 5 grandkids with 2 more on the way. Their oldest son lives in Tennessee, then they have twin daughters--one in Mapleton and one in Centerville--and our youngest son lives in Spanish Fork.
The Lunds favorite holiday is a bit unique. They LOVE Groundhog Day! They have celebrated each year with everything from big bashes to small family gatherings. They have been to Punxsutawney several times for the celebrations and festivities. It’s a grand day at the Lund house. Once, they were celebrating Groundhog Day with a large crowd when their son announced to everyone that they would be using a real groundhog the following year--as long as everyone could get mom on board with the plan. After jumping through all the hoops of habitat requirements, fees, and a flight, they got ourselves an “exotic pet” groundhog named Mapleton Maddox. What an adventure!
The Lunds have a lot of fun, and they also are dedicated to putting Christ first in their lives. They made the commitment before they got married that no matter what, Christ would be the center of their lives and they would put Him first. It has been their foundation and the Lord has always blessed them for whatever efforts they could make, and always continues to bless and carry them through their trials.

This last summer (2025), the Wright family went on a two-week adventure across the Midwest for a family reunion, tourism, and a Church history tour. While at Adam-Ondi-Ahman, Jonathan and the kids went to the rental van—a black Dodge Grand Caravan minivan—while Becca hit the restroom before getting back on the road. When Becca got out of the bathroom, she looked for her family and spotted the minivan. She made a quick beeline toward her family so they could head on their way. She heard a sharp honk, but she knew she wasn’t in anyone’s way, so she continue on toward her family in the minivan. She opened the passenger door and was immediately confused by the unrecognized backpack on the floor of the front seat. Then she heard, “Hello?” When she looked up, she saw a dad waiting for his wife—but it wasn’t Jonathan. She had opened the door of the wrong rental van. After an embarrassed flush and a rushed apology, she closed the door and found her family nearly passed out from hysterically laughing. When they saw her marching toward the wrong vehicle, Jonathan made a sharp honk, but Becca had ignored it completely, knowing it couldn't be for her. For the rest of the vacation, the whole family reminded Becca of where the car was and how to get back to it.
One of their favorite family traditions is that each year for the 12 days leading up to Christmas, the Wrights light a candle, turn off all the lights except for the Christmas tree, and crowd together in front of it to read a Christmas story together each night before bed. Let them know if you have a favorite family Christmas story. They always love adding to their collection.
Something that has contributed to their family building faith in Jesus Christ is “Scripture Power.” Every night, they sing a verse or two of the song “Scripture Power” to signal to the family that it’s time to read scriptures together. They do a brief Come, Follow Me lesson which sometimes leads to valuable gospel discussions. It also often leads to arguments (don’t get any false ideas about how our family operates), but the consistency of it—over time—has helped the kids know how important the gospel of Jesus Christ is to their family. They end Scripture Power with family prayer before putting younger children to bed.
If you see the Wright family, say hi and introduce yourselves!
