Announcements
Worldwide Church Devotional with Elder Holland October 26th (evening). More information coming.
Self-Reliance Courses – Our stake Emotional Resilience courses for youth, women and men will begin the week of September 8th. The men's class and the women's class will both be on Wednesdays at 8pm, and the youth class will be on Saturdays at 9am. We are pleased to offer these classes as a resource for our members who seek to build emotional resilience in their lives.
Finding Comfort and Healing: Support Groups – An email was sent on 8/31 from Brother Christen sharing information on these groups which are intended to provide a place for members who have particular needs where they can share with each other how they have found strength in Christ during difficult times. If you have any individuals that might benefit feel free to encourage them to attend. Groups start at 7pm at the Stake Center with alternating topics:
Groups for Grief and Loss (Event Link) will be held the 1st Thursday of each month
Groups for Family Relationships (Event Link) will be held the 3rd Thursday of each month. This group will seek to provide strength and insight for how to maintain strong family relationships with those who face difficult challenges (faith, same-sex attraction, etc.) or who may have stepped away from the church.
Seminary and Institute - A new semester is upon us, and that means Seminary and Institute classes have begun! It's not too late; students can still join a class.
Seminary: We have our new stake-based early morning Seminary class that meets at 7am every school day at the Maple Mountain High School Seminary. Anyone can join.
Institute: Details for institute are available on our stake website. You can also see the Utah Valley Institute 2025_Fall_Schedule.
EQ Counselors over YSAs: Please share the institute schedule with the YSA Reps in your ward (or directly with the YSAs if you don't have a representative). Please also share that on Sun, Sept. 21 @ 6pm, Elder Steven D. Shumway will be speaking at the Utah Valley Institute. His recent General Conference talk was quite moving, and I'm sure it will be a delight to hear him speak in person.
Welfare Training (Morning of Oct 11) – The Springville Welfare Complex is hosting their bi-annual leader orientation. If you haven't attended yet or if it's been a while, we highly encourage you to attend. This training is a great way to see the local welfare resources available to help members in our stewardships. It includes the Bishop's Storehouse, Family Services, Deseret Industries, Home Storage Center, Employment Resource Services, BYU Pathway-Worldwide, and more. The 2.5 hour orientation is available in-person starting every half-hour from 8:30am-10:00am or virtually on Zoom starting at 10am. You can sign up for the in-person sessions here or find more information in the attached PDF.
