# Privacy Policy for M3UNex Player
Effective date: June 4, 2026
## Developer
M3UNex Player is developed by Codeliq Studio.
Support: m3unexplayer@gmail.com
## What the App Is
M3UNex Player is a media player for user-provided M3U and M3U8 playlists.
M3UNex Player does not provide, host, sell, promote, or include TV channels,
movies, sports streams, IPTV subscriptions, or any media content. Users must add
their own legal playlists and are responsible for ensuring they have the rights
to access any content they play.
## Information the App Stores Locally
M3UNex Player stores app data on the user's device so the app can manage
playlists, channels, settings, and playback history. This local data may include:
- Playlist names and playlist URLs added by the user.
- Channel names, groups, logos, stream URLs, and request headers when present.
- Favorite channels.
- Hidden channel state.
- Watch history.
- Channel health check results.
- App settings.
- Backup metadata and backup-related settings.
- Interface mode selection, such as Android Device or Android TV mode.
This information is stored on the user's device unless the user chooses to
export a backup file.
## Backup Export
M3UNex Player lets users create a local backup file. A backup may contain
sensitive playlist and stream information, including playlist URLs, stream URLs,
request headers, channels, favorites, hidden state, watch history, health check
results, and settings.
Users should keep backup files private and store them only in locations they
trust. Backup restore is not active yet. The app does not upload backup files to
Codeliq Studio.
## Network Usage
M3UNex Player connects to the network when needed for app features chosen by the
user. The app may connect to:
- User-provided playlist URLs to import or refresh playlists.
- User-provided stream URLs to play channels.
- User-provided stream URLs during channel health checks.
- Optional external links opened by the user, such as Privacy Policy or Terms of
Use links when configured.
Codeliq Studio does not operate or control third-party playlist servers, stream
servers, content providers, or IPTV services.
## Data Collection by Codeliq Studio
In the current app:
- No account registration is required.
- M3UNex Player does not use a Codeliq Studio cloud sync service.
- M3UNex Player does not automatically send email.
- Codeliq Studio does not sell personal data through the app.
- M3UNex Player does not collect precise location.
If a user contacts support, the app opens the user's email app with a draft
message. The user chooses whether to send that email. If sent, the support email
account may receive the information the user includes, such as app version,
device information, and any details typed by the user.
## Third-Party Services
M3UNex Player may use Android system services such as the file picker and email
intent so users can save backups or contact support.
Google Play may handle app distribution, updates, reviews, and future purchases
if purchase features are enabled later.
M3UNex Player does not currently serve live AdMob ads. If AdMob ads are added in
a future update, this Privacy Policy and the Play Data Safety disclosures must
be updated before ads are served.
M3UNex Player does not currently offer Google Play Billing purchases or active
subscriptions. If paid digital features or subscriptions are added later, this
Privacy Policy must be updated to describe purchase and subscription handling.
## Children and Families
M3UNex Player is not intended to provide content for children. The app does not
provide channels, streams, movies, sports, or other media content. Users are
responsible for the playlists and content they add.
Unless Codeliq Studio makes a deliberate Play Console choice to offer the app as
children-directed, M3UNex Player should be treated as a general media player
tool for user-provided playlists.
## User Control
Users can manage local app data in several ways, including:
- Delete playlists.
- Clear watch history.
- Clear health check results.
- Restore hidden channels.
- Delete app data through Android system settings.
- Remove the app from the device.
Users can also control where they save local backup files.
## Security
M3UNex Player stores local app data on the device. Backup files may contain
sensitive playlist or stream information and should be kept private.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Users should protect their
device, app data, and backup files.
## International Users
Users may access M3UNex Player from different countries or regions. By using the
app, users understand that app data is primarily stored locally on their device
and that third-party playlist or stream servers may be located in other regions.
## Changes to This Policy
Codeliq Studio may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When the policy
is updated, the effective date should be changed.
