$50 to the THMS Finance Office. This is a TUSD requirement for all fine arts classes. Neither Mr. Moore nor the Boosters can accept this payment. Please see the finance clerk at THMS to make this payment once the new fiscal year starts. This money goes into the band tax credit account to use for band activities throughout the year.
The Tucson High Band Boosters ask that each band member pledge for band activities throughout the year. This can be broken into payments throughout the summer and fall. The exact amount is still to be determined, but we will have that information for you soon.

School finance is tricky. There are three (3) basic accounts used to fund band activities. They have different rules for who supplies the funds, and how those funds are used.
Tax Credit. These purchases must be spend on vendors on the official "TUSD Approved Vendor" list. The requisition and ordering process can take weeks, and is subject to THMS administration approval. However, families making tax credit donations may take advantage of the tax benefit.
Band Club. A portion of student fund-raisers (candy bar sales...) is deposited into the Band Club Account. The requisition and ordering process is the same long process as Tax Credit. However, there is no "approved vendor" list for Club Funds. The Band Club decides how and when to spend these funds through class elections business meetings.
Band Boosters. The Tucson High Band Boosters are a 501c3 non-profit organization. The Boosters account is under the control of the elected Booster Board. The $175 Booster Pledge provides start-up funds for the boosters. The Boosters, provide uniforms, flags, food, music, logistical support, and many more forms of support for the band program. Booster money can be spent immediately upon approval from the Board, and it is not subject to TUSD approval.

Grandparents, aunts, co-workers, neighbors, friend's parents, that old lady at church... any Arizona taxpayer can donate. Be sure to send a copy of your receipt to Mr. Sanders so he can ensure your donation reaches the right account.
