Biography

Dr. M. Sajid is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, where he works under the supervision of Dr. Cyrus Mostajeran in the Applied Geometries Lab. Prior to joining NTU, he was a Translational Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, India, where he worked on translating AI-driven healthcare technologies into clinically deployable systems. He received his Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the Department of Mathematics at IIT Indore under the supervision of Prof. M. Tanveer in the OPTIMAL Research Lab (2026). He holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics from IIT Delhi, India (2021), and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi, India (2019). He has also served as Technical Lead – AI & Medical Data Systems at PraxiaTech Pvt. Ltd., where he contributed to the development of AI-powered healthcare solutions. 

His research focuses on Machine Learning, Computational Intelligence, Randomized Neural Networks, Graph Neural Networks, Medical Vision-Language Models, Explainable AI, Foundation Models, and AI for Healthcare, with a particular emphasis on Alzheimer's disease diagnosis using multimodal neuroimaging and EEG. His recent work spans interpretable medical AI, generative diffusion models, multimodal learning, and translational AI systems for clinical decision support.

He has published papers in leading journals, including IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems (TNNLS), IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems (TFS), WIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Pattern Recognition, Neural Networks, and Information Sciences, as well as premier international conferences such as ICML, MICCAI, INTERSPEECH, WCCI, IJCNN, and ICONIP. His research has also led to multiple patents and the development of AI platforms for neurodegenerative disease diagnosis. Sajid actively contributes to the research community as a reviewer for more than 15 leading journals and conferences, including IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TFS, IEEE TKDE, IEEE TCYB, IEEE TII, IEEE TSMC, IEEE TETCI, Information Fusion, Pattern Recognition, Neural Networks, Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio), NeurIPS, ICML, AISTATS, AAAI, ICASSP, ICPR, and IJCNN. 

Sajid is actively engaged in professional service through IEEE and the AI research community. He is the Founding Chair of the IEEE CIS Student Branch Chapter at IIT Indore, Convener of IEEE CIS Madhya Pradesh Section Student Activities, and Mentor for the IEEE CS SYP Micro Mentoring Program 2025. Previously, he served as Vice Chair of the IEEE Student Branch at IIT Indore, Secretary of the IEEE CIS Madhya Pradesh Section, and Ambassador for the IEEE EMBS Student Mentorship Program 2024 and IEEE CS TechX 2025. He has also served as a Program Committee Member for ICONIP 2024, Reviewer for the IEEE TryEngineering STEM Grant Program 2025, and has organized and volunteered at several IEEE conferences, workshops, and summer/winter schools, reflecting his commitment to research leadership, mentorship, and community service.
