This research addresses the modelling and design of a floating moored platform with thrusters for controlling the stability of a floating platform.
Mathematical models of floating platform mechanisms along with the thruster model have been devised using the transfer function approach.
Transfer functions are calculated using the free-body diagrams of the system.
When results are analysed, it shows the requirement of an efficient controller due to large disturbances.
PID controller is chosen to stabilize the system as it stabilizes the system along with improving the transient response and overshoot error of the system.
Results are obtained by implementing the transfer functions in MATLAB and SIMULINK software.
