Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Climate Change Mitigation and Environmental Sustainability
Overview:
We seek motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Scholars to join our interdisciplinary team. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity to conduct data-driven research that critically examines the interplay between climate change solutions and their environmental impacts. The ideal candidates are passionate about using quantitative and spatial analysis to shape a sustainable future.
Research Focus:
Under the primary mentorship of Dr. Zhongbin Li, the fellows will lead and collaborate on innovative research projects. Our group explores the dual facets of climate mitigation strategies: their potential benefits and their unintended environmental consequences. Key areas of investigation include:
Land Change Science & Forest Disturbance Monitoring
Remote Sensing of the Environment
Spatial Planning for Renewable Energy and its Ecological Footprint
Irrigation Water Resource Efficiency and Management
Carbon burial potential of macroalgae
Responsibilities:
Design and execute cutting-edge, data-driven research.
Develop and apply spatial models and quantitative methods.
Lead manuscript preparation for publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
Present findings at national and international scientific conferences.
Actively contribute to a collaborative and supportive lab culture.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Geography, Ecology, Remote Sensing, or a related field.
Strong quantitative skills and experience with spatial data analysis (e.g., in R, Python, or GIS).
A record of publishing (or strong potential to publish) in peer-reviewed journals.
Intellectual curiosity, independence, and a collaborative spirit.
A demonstrated commitment to both personal career growth and the success of the research team.
