If you want a closed-back studio headphone with premium leather comfort and dual-cable versatility for long streaming sessions, choose LyxPro HAS-30; if you need swiveling earcups for one-ear monitoring and a massive 10-foot cable for DJ setups or mobile broadcasting, choose POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2.
• LyxPro HAS-30: Strength lies in its all-day plush leather design and included straight/coiled cables for flexible studio work; trade-off is the lack of rotating earcups for quick on-the-shoulder checks. Best for streamers prioritizing comfort during marathon broadcasts.
• POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2: Strength features rotating earcups for single-ear monitoring and a heavy-duty 10-foot cable for distance; trade-off is a plastic enclosure rather than premium leather materials. Best for DJs or podcasters needing to monitor audio while keeping one ear free.
• The Verdict: Both are wired, over-ear monitors, but they serve slightly different workflow needs depending on whether your priority is soft-touch comfort or active monitoring flexibility.
The LyxPro HAS-30 feels like it was engineered specifically for people who plan to wear headphones for hours without wanting to take them off. If you are running a live stream or recording a podcast that runs longer than two hours, this level of padding matters more than you might expect. The goal here is to prevent ear fatigue, allowing you to focus entirely on your content rather than adjusting tight clamps or shifting sweaty ears.
Connectivity is another area where this model shines for the home studio enthusiast. It comes with two removable cables: a straight cable and a coiled cable. This gives you genuine flexibility. You can use the straight cable for a clean setup behind a desk, or swap in the coiled cable when you need to move around the room without tripping over wires. The inclusion of a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter ensures universal compatibility, meaning you can plug directly into professional mixing boards, audio interfaces, or standard laptops without hunting for third-party adapters.

However, this headphone is not for everyone. If your workflow requires you to quickly flip one ear cup down to hear ambient noise in a noisy club or a busy room, the fixed ear cup design of the HAS-30 limits you. It is a dedicated monitoring tool designed to isolate sound completely, which is excellent for critical listening but less ideal if you need constant situational awareness while wearing them. It is also strictly a wired device, so if you are looking for wireless freedom, this is not the path to take.
The POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2 takes a different approach, leaning heavily into the needs of mobile broadcasters and DJs who need to stay aware of their surroundings. The standout feature here is undoubtedly the swiveling and rotating earcups. The specification notes that these cups rotate 90 degrees outward, allowing you to turn one earcup away from your ear for "one-ear handheld monitoring." This is a game-changer for anyone who needs to listen to their mix through one side while hearing their audience or the room through the other. It turns the headphones into a semi-open experience instantly without changing the physical hardware.
For those working in environments where movement is key, the included 10-foot cable is a massive advantage. While most consumer headphones come with a standard 3-to-6-foot cord, this unit provides ten feet of length. This allows a DJ to move freely across a stage or a podcaster to step away from their laptop to interact with guests or equipment without being tethered to the desk. The dynamic driver technology delivers detailed sound even in noisy environments, making it suitable for monitoring audio on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop while on the go.
That said, the build materials suggest a different priority. The enclosure is made of plastic rather than the leather found on the competitor. While this makes the unit lightweight at 10.2 ounces, it may not offer the same luxurious feel or heat dissipation properties as the leather-padded alternative during very long sessions. Additionally, the impedance is 32 ohms with a sensitivity of 102 dB, which is standard for mobile and entry-level studio use, ensuring it drives easily from phones and computers without needing an external amplifier. It is a robust tool for active use, but perhaps less "luxurious" for passive, seated listening.
• Best for marathon streaming comfort → LyxPro HAS-30, thanks to the plush leather headband and ear cups designed to eliminate fatigue.
• Best for one-ear monitoring → POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2, because of the unique 90-degree rotating earcups that let you keep one ear open.
• Best for mobility and range → POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2, featuring a generous 10-foot cable compared to the standard lengths on the HAS-30.
• Best for versatile cabling → LyxPro HAS-30, offering both straight and coiled cable options to suit different desk setups.
• Best for mobile devices → POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2, explicitly tuned for rich sound on smartphones, iPods, and tablets in noisy settings.
• Best for professional isolation → LyxPro HAS-30, designed to unleash full audio potential with deep detail retrieval in a closed-back format.
• Best value for DJs → POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2, as the pivoting earcups are a specific requirement for on-shoulder monitoring in club environments.
• Best for home studio flexibility → LyxPro HAS-30, providing the 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter and dual cables needed for various audio interfaces.
In my opinion, I would choose the LyxPro HAS-30 for general streaming purposes. While the POLSEN model has impressive features for DJs, the primary use case for most content creators is long-duration listening where comfort is king. The combination of the premium leather headband and the ability to switch between straight and coiled cables makes it the superior choice for a stationary streamer who wants to disappear into their audio without distraction. However, if your streaming style involves moving around frequently or you need to monitor your voice while hearing your audience, the POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2 becomes the undeniable winner due to its rotating cups and extra-long cable. For a typical home setup, the LyxPro offers the balance of isolation and luxury that keeps you focused on your craft.
Neither model features electronic active noise cancelling (ANC). Both rely on "sound isolation" via their over-ear, closed-back designs to block out external noise physically. They are designed to be worn on the head, not as in-ear buds.
Both units carry a limited one-year manufacturer warranty. The LyxPro uses leather components which may require more care to maintain, while the POLSEN uses a plastic enclosure that is generally impact-resistant but lacks the premium feel of the leather option. Durability will depend largely on how well you handle the cables and hinges.
The POLSEN HPC-A30-MK2 explicitly mentions a "tuned bass response for low-end clarity," making it a strong candidate for genres requiring heavy bass monitoring. The LyxPro focuses on bringing out "hidden details and nuances" across the spectrum, suggesting a more balanced approach rather than a bass-heavy tuning.
