We are looking for caring, hard-working students who want to take a leadership role in our school. Peer Mentors work as a team and individually to welcome new students to Lynn Tech and to help eigth and ninth grade students throughout the school year by meeting with them both formally and informally every month.
Selected Mentors will be required to:
- Attend an online meeting session in June
- Attend two work sessions during summer vacation, in late August or early September
- Volunteer at certain school events
- Come to school on Orientation Day (Grade 8 & Grade 9) in September all day
- Attend freshman homeroom once per month
- Act in a manner that is consistent with our mission as Peer Mentors. This includes upholding the LVTI discipline code, remaining in good standing in classes and shop, and serving as a positive role model to students.
For all of this work, here’s what you get:
- A t-shirt
- A great opportunity to develop your leadership skills
- A letter of reference for college and/or jobs, if needed
- A feeling of pride and a sense that you have done something to make our school better!
