Privacy Policy

Lyfe ("the app") is built to help you keep track of your receipts, warranties, and return windows. Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version Lyfe does not have user accounts and does not have a server that collects your data. Everything you put into the app — receipts, photos, warranty dates, and return dates — stays on your device and, if you have iCloud turned on, syncs privately through your own Apple iCloud account. We, the developers, never see it.

Information stored on your device When you scan or add a receipt, the app saves the receipt image and the details (store, date, items, amount, warranty length, and return-by date) locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled, this information is synced across your own devices using Apple's iCloud service, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. This data is not sent to us or to any third party we control.

Receipt scanning Receipt scanning and text recognition happen on your device. The app reads the text from your receipt photos locally to fill in the details for you. These images and their contents are not uploaded to us.

Learning from your corrections To improve how accurately it reads receipts, Lyfe remembers corrections you make (for example, fixing a store name or a product name). This learning information is stored only on your device and is used solely to read your receipts more accurately over time. It is never transmitted to us.

Permissions the app may request

Camera — used only to photograph receipts you choose to scan.
Photo Library — used only to import receipt images you select.
Notifications — used to remind you before a warranty expires or a return window closes. All permissions are optional. You can deny or revoke any of them in your device Settings, and the app remains usable.

Optional store-logo feature Lyfe offers an optional feature that displays a store's logo next to your purchases. If you enable it and provide your own logo.dev API key, the app sends only the store's name to logo.dev to fetch a matching logo. No receipt contents, personal information, or other purchase details are sent. This feature is off unless you set it up, and the app works fully without it. logo.dev's handling of requests is governed by its own privacy policy.

Data we collect We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data. The app contains no third-party advertising, no analytics tracking, and no usage tracking.

Children's privacy Lyfe is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them. Because the app collects no personal data at all, no such information is gathered from any user.

Changes to this policy If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
