Designed for teens and adults of all skill levels and experience. Lydia teaches under the philosophy that everyone can sing, with proven success in teaching 'tone deaf' adults. From professional vocalists to shower-stall stars, a lack of confidence is all that holds many back from singing at their best. For those who seek a professional career, the key to a strong vocal technique in any style is having a strong foundation. First master your authentic voice, then you can safely and deliberately add nuances to build upon the character of your voice.

Workshops last about 1.5 to 2 hours and consist of a variety of exercises designed to:

• Improve vocal muscle memory and stamina, stage presence, pitch and rhythm issues, weak voice, vocal awareness;
• Relieve nerves & anxiety, improve confidence;

Exercises may change from workshop to workshop, and will usually include:

• physical, vocal and mental warm-ups;
• breath training;
• pitch and ear training;
• rhythm exercises;
• improvisation exercises;
• choral practice with SATB harmony arrangements and rounds;

Known as a jazz singer, Lydia is a master of voices and has performed and recorded in different styles such as operatic, broadway, country, folk, ethnic/world, and has been known to pull out a decent rap. Composer, arranger, music educator and recording artist with fans around the world, Lydia has worked with people aged five-months to 50 years to help them take part in, and truly enjoy, their love of music.

Children under 14 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
