Do I need to join the League of Women Voters of the US in order to join my local League?
When you join your local League, you automatically become a member of your state League and the national League also. There is no need to join multiple Leagues to participate at all levels.
I see the value of League membership, but the $75 membership fee is too much for me right now. Do you have scholarships available?
Yes, thanks to generous donors, we have some funds available for scholarships. Please contact the president at president@lwvncsmc.org to request scholarship support.
I'm not a U.S. citizen, but I live here. Can I join?
Yes, the League welcomes those who are not citizens.
Is there a minimum age for League membership?
Yes, to join the League you must be 16 years old.
I'm not a "woman voter." Can I still join?
We believe in the power of women to create a more perfect democracy. If you share our vision, you are welcome!
I live outside your area, but I want to participate in your League. Can I join?
Yes, you can join a League other than the one in the area you live in, or you could join more than one. Once in a while, due to the boundaries of special districts or some other concern, members choose to join a League other than the one where they reside.
Is my membership dues tax-deductible?
