Observer Corps

This team educates the residents of Cape May County on the who, what and why of our local government entities. Our trained observers attend local government meetings as silent, nonpartisan observers who observe and take notes on the proceedings. We provide information on the work of our government officials to the public by posting:

• agendas and official minutes of local government meetings,

• audio recordings of local government meetings (as available),

• reports from members of our independent non-partisan Observer Corps,

• attendance records of local elected officials at government meetings.

We post these links on our webpage and alert the public to new posts through our social media pages.

As a service to the voters of Cape May County, our League maintains a spreadsheet with links to the agendas, official minutes, and audio/video recordings of council meetings for all 16 municipalities within Cape May County, as well as County Commissioner meetings. In addition, members of our Observer Corps attend select meetings as silent, nonpartisan observers and post a link to their summarized notes on the spreadsheet.
