Getting Started with Epic!
There is a sign up process for teachers, parents, and students. To get started you have to choose if you are a student or an educator.
For educators, you have to find your school first and put your school email. Teachers can set up separate accounts for students and enter a class code.
How can teachers use Epic?
Teachers can use this resource to assign students books to read, and also to track reading progress. Once accounts are set up, teachers can assign books or entire collections to one or more students and track what they've read.
How can students use Epic?
Students can use this resource to choose what books they want to read and they are able to read anywhere they want using a computer, tablet, or a phone. Students sign in with a unique code to browse or read what's been assigned.
1.1a Learning goals
Students articulate and set personal learning goals, develop strategies leveraging technology to achieve them and reflect on the learning process itself to improve learning outcomes.
1.1c Feedback to Improve Practice
Students use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways.
Epic addresses each of the ISTE Standards by setting personal learning goals when teachers assign books to students and they can keep track of their progress and reflect on their outcome.
