Luz Garcia de Giraldo, Is an Architect that has dedicated half of her life to create art. She always found herself creating beautiful artwork and different technics to express her emotions through it. Her upbringing forced her to escape reality with a pen and paper at hand, she created beauty as a form of protest that suited her own expectation of life. Her parents moved to Venezuela and she was born and raised there. She married young at only 18 years old, she rapidely had 4 children, at the age of 28 years old. At that point of her life, she knew she needed to pursue her dreams and aspirations. Her escape was always marked by colors, drawing and creating beauty out of every scarse resources at hand. She decided to go to Universidad de Los Andes in Merida Venezuela. Estela at 36 years old, once felt her children were big enough-decided she wanted to be an architect. A dream soon became a reality, after 6 years of being in college she graduated, she was the oldest of her class. She remembers many times when she walked into a classroom, her classmates thought she was the teacher, the age disparities were so obvious for so many of them that she was mocked, and told countless times she was not good enough, either for lack of resource or simply because of her age, she is very glad she never let those around her at that time define her. She went on to work for many years for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as an architect, those years were years that she deeply treasures in her heart. She moved to Utah 11 years ago,
Out of all her roles as a woman, her favorite title is grandma.
