Lu Yu (于露)

I am a postdoctoral fellow at CREST/ENSAE Paris, hosted by Prof. Arnak S. Dalalyan. Previously, I received my Ph.D. in Statistics at the University of Toronto, where I was very fortunate to be supervised by Prof. Stanislav Volgushev and Prof. Murat A. Erdogdu. Prior to that, I obtained an MS degree in Statistics at the University of Washington and a BSc in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at Shandong University.

My research lies in the confluence of machine learning, optimization, and statistics. I am broadly interested in developing theoretical guarantees that align closely with practical experience in machine learning and optimization. Currently, I am working on the theory of stochastic optimization and sampling.
