Local Heritage:
The Kasatori-cho District
The residence is situated in Kasatori-cho, an area where historical significance meets modern residential tranquility.
Historical Highlights
The Origin of "Kasatori": Local lore suggests the name comes from the strong winds near the Shonai River—strong enough to blow off a traveler's hat (kasa). Alternatively, it may derive from ancient terms for "layered topography" and "wetland edges."
Warring States History: Just north of Kasatori-cho is the Inougahara Battlefield, where Oda Nobunaga fought his brother Nobuyuki in the Battle of Inou in 1556.
Evolution: Formerly a serene farming village from the Edo to Meiji periods, the area was reorganized into its current urban form between 1934 and 1937.
The neighborhood balances a calm living environment with modern amenities and cultural experiences.
Shopping and Daily Needs
Miyuki Mall: A local shopping destination for various needs.
Ion Town Meisei: Located near Shonaitori Station, offering extensive commercial facilities.
Horibe Koubou: A specialist shop for those interested in traditional Japanese kimonos.
Experiences and Entertainment
Glass Studio: Local workshops for glass-making experiences.
Fragrance & Scent: Specialized experiences focused on creating personal scents.
Dining: The surrounding area is home to a variety of restaurants, offering local culinary delights.
Surroundings
The area is characterized by a peaceful environment with public parks and educational facilities like the Kokufu Daiichi Kindergarten, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking a quiet stay within a vibrant city.
