The Government has recently published transport guidance for private hire operators like Luxe Travel Solutions, and passengers in England.
We have been busy revising and refining our safety protocols throughout the current pandemic. But we are not finished yet and will continue to review and follow industry based guidelines. Safety is never finished.
As safety is always paramount at Luxe, we have of course, followed the new DfT guidance to the letter. But we have also added some important amendments, which we believe will make all our chauffeur-driven journeys safer. The bespoke nature of our business means that we can continue to provide a very personal service, even during times of crisis. Small details, but we feel they are important. Here are the main points of our revised Coronavirus Travel policy.
Sanitise. Drive. Sanitise. Repeat.
“Touch points (for example buttons to open doors, hand rails) across the transport network should be particular areas of focus for increased cleaning.” – Department of Transport
Identify higher risk areas such as areas that are touched more regularly. (Touch points/Hot spots)
Steam clean the interior thouroughly following every client journey.
Cleaning regularly-touched objects and surfaces (like door handles, handrails and seat belt clips) more often than usual using standard cleaning products and followed up with alcohol based disinfectant.
Clearing workspaces, removing and appropriately disposing of waste and removing belongings from the vehicle at the end of each journey.
Your driver will be wearing a mask and gloves at all times during your journey, and although not compulsory at present we advise that our clients do the same.
We will carry handsanitiser on every journey should you need this and also advise washing hands thouroughly before and after your journey with us.
We have also installed a cab divider curtain in the vehicle which is also cleaned following every journey. This is an added safety feature for both clients and driver. Our Mercedes Viano LWB MPV allows for social distancing between our clients and driver.
We are doing all we can to identify and eliminate the risk from “hot spots” in everything we do. We recognise that these areas in particular need special attention. High alcohol content disinfectants will be used to focus on the ’grime’ as much as our usual ’shine’.
