Your Bible (a phone app works fine, and Camp Phillip has extra Bibles)
Snacks and drinks for outside of mealtimes
Sheets, blankets or sleeping bags, and pillows (camp provides bunks with mattresses, but no bedding)
Note: the camp mattresses are somewhat firm. You may want to consider bringing extra blankets or pillows for padding.
Towels, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
Sunscreen and bug spray
Light jacket or windbreaker (it's not impossible that the weather in Wisconsin fluctuates even in late August)
Sturdy closed-toed shoes for hiking during free time
This has been a bad year for ticks in Wisconsin. Consider bringing socks and long clothing if hiking, and taking appropriate precautions.
Swimsuit, etc. if you wish to swim in the Millpond during free time (at your own risk)
There is no lifeguard available, so take proper precautions and don't swim alone
Games or puzzles to share with the group (appropriate for a group seeking to honor God through our behavior)
Cash for the Camp Store if desired
Lodgings for the retreat are in large rooms each with multiple bunk beds. Bunk spots are assigned on a first-come, first served basis -- just claim one when you arrive.
If you plan to fly in from out of state for the retreat, the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, located about 2.5 hours from Camp Phillip, may offer the most flight (and potential carpooling) options. A few other airports (such as the Appleton International or the Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airports, as well as a variety of regional airports including one near Madison) have limited flights, but would bring you slightly closer to Wautoma if a convenient option is present.
Bus routes may bring you slightly closer to Wautoma (for example, a bus line runs from Madison, WI with a stop in Westfield, WI, about half an hour from Camp Phillip). However, you will likely need a car for the last stretch to camp. If you need transportation to Camp Phillip or are interested in coordinating a rental with others arriving at the same airport, please indicate this on the registration form or contact us at lutheransinglesretreat@gmail.com to investigate options.
Registration includes lodgings for Friday and Saturday nights at Camp Phillip. However, if you wish to instead stay at a nearby hotel, some options are listed below.
