Faith for Living is a weekday morning gathering at Lakeside Chautauqua where the Preacher of the Week shares practical reflections on how Christian faith shapes everyday life. Through thoughtful teaching and conversation, the program invites participants to grow spiritually while engaging with others in the Lakeside community.
During the Lutheran week, this program is split into two hours. The "first hour" (9 am) follows more of a worship service style - prelude, readings, hymns, choir anthems, and a message. This runs approximately 45 min-1 hour. After a short break (10 minutes), the "second hour" continues with the Preacher of the Week's theme. The guest preacher shares a short lecture or devotional message centered on a weekly theme. There is often room for dialogue and questions.
Lakeside Lutheran Chautauqua meets in Hoover Auditorium for the Faith For Living hours. Coffee is provided Monday-Friday in the back of Hoover. Be sure to arrive early on Monday and Friday for donuts!
You do not have to register for the whole week to attend Faith For Living. Lakeside offers a complimentary Faith For Living Pass available at the gate.
