Privacy Policy for PureQR
Last Updated: 28 January 2026
This privacy policy applies to the PureQR mobile application (herein referred to as "the App"), a tool designed for generating and scanning QR codes and barcodes.
1. Information Collection and Use
Your privacy is our top priority. This app uses the camera only to scan QR codes and does not collect or store any personal data. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) to use the App.
2. Permissions and Data Handling
To provide its core functionality, the App requests the following permissions:
Camera Access: Used strictly for scanning QR codes and barcodes. The visual data processed by the camera is analyzed in real-time on your device and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted to any external servers.
Storage / Media Access: Used only when you choose to save a generated QR code image to your device’s gallery or when you share an image. We use modern Android MediaStore APIs to ensure that we only access the specific files necessary for these actions.
Internet Access: Used solely to allow you to open URLs discovered via scanning in your preferred web browser.
3. Local History Storage
The App includes a "History" feature that saves your scanned and generated results. This data is stored locally on your device in a private database (Room Database).
This data never leaves your device.
We do not have access to your history.
You have full control over this data and can delete individual entries or clear the entire history at any time within the App’s settings.
4. Data Safety & Third-Party Services
No Data Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties.
Third-Party Libraries: The App uses industry-standard libraries (such as ZXing) for code processing. These libraries operate entirely offline on your device.
Encryption: While the data is stored locally, it is protected by the standard Android sandbox security model.
5. Children’s Privacy
PureQR does not collect any information from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for use by individuals of all ages.
6. Compliance with Google Play Policies
This App complies with the latest Google Play Developer Program Policies regarding prominent disclosure and user consent. We ensure that our data practices are transparent and that users remain in control of their device's sensors and storage.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
