Brief overview of our commitment to privacy

We believe that the less information we know about you, the better. After all, it is impossible to lose, misuse, or abuse information we don’t have.

Personal Data

We don’t collect and don’t have access to your personal data that you save in Authenticator. Everything you do is saved into your iCloud account in encrypted form and is synced across your devices using the same iCloud account. The codes are saved in keychain for more security. When you use our software we DO NOT record any usage analytics and crash logs. You might provide some data directly, such as when you contact us for support. Such data is limited to your email address only.

macOS Screen Capture Permission

the macOS app will ask for screen recoding permission if you want to scan QR codes. The application will not take full screenshots of screen and only take the portion of the screen that you select which contains the QR code. This screenshot will be saved in app cache directory and will never leave your device.

iOS Camera Permission

the iOS app will ask for Camera permission if you attempt to scan a QR code. The camera will not take a picture of the QR code. It only extract the QR information from the barcode and fill in the form.

Usage analytics

We DO NOT collect any usage analytics.
