FAQ ... quiet rituals, answered
Below you’ll find quick answers about our candles and eco‑resin objects: materials, care, shipping, and custom requests.
If you don’t see your question, message us. We’re happy to help.
1) Processing & Custom Orders
Do you have products in stock?
No, we do not maintain a permanent stock. Every single item is handcrafted to order specifically for you in our studio. This ensures that your pieces are made with fresh materials and tailored attention to detail.
How long will it take for my order to be ready?
Because our pieces are created upon request, standard orders require a maximum of 7 days processing time before they are ready for pickup or shipping. This timeframe allows for the proper pouring, curing, and sealing of the Jesmonite vessels, as well as the correct setting of the wax.
Can I order bespoke items for special events or rituals?
Yes, we love creating custom pieces for special events, gifts, and bespoke rituals. Because these projects depend heavily on the specific request and quantity, the timeline and design details will vary. Please reach out to us directly via [insert email/contact form] to discuss your vision and we will map out a timeline together.
2) Delivery & Logistics
Do you offer local pickup?
At this moment, local pickup in Amsterdam is our only available option. We do not offer standard shipping just yet. Once your order is handcrafted and ready, we will contact you directly to arrange a convenient pickup location and time slot within the city.
3) Payment Information
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept a variety of secure payment methods at checkout, including:
iDEAL (for easy bank transfers in the Netherlands)
When will my payment be processed?
Because every item is custom-made to order, your payment will be processed immediately at checkout. Once the transaction is completed, our studio will begin handcrafting your Jesmonite pieces and pouring your candles.
How do payments work for bespoke rituals and special events?
For large event orders or bespoke custom pieces, payment terms depend on the scope of the project. Typically, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit before we begin sourcing materials and designing your pieces, with the remaining balance due prior to or upon pickup in Amsterdam.
What wax do you use?
Every candle is hand-poured using 100% natural wax. This ensures a clean, non-toxic burn that is better for both you and your space. Our wax is biodegradable and free from paraffin and synthetic dyes.
Are your candles scented? How strong is the fragrance?
Yes, we offer both scented and unscented options. For our scented collection, we use high-quality, phthalate-free fragrance oils.
We aim for a balanced, room-filling throw that enhances your space without being overwhelming. If you prefer a subtle aroma, we recommend our lighter floral or citrus scents; for a stronger presence, look to our warm, spiced, or woody profiles.
What are the candle vessels and objects made of?
Our vessels and decorative objects are handcrafted using Jesmonite, a premium eco-resin. It is a water-based, non-toxic material that contains no solvents or VOCs, making it highly sustainable. Because each piece is individually mixed, poured, and finished by hand, slight variations in color and tiny air bubbles are natural characteristics that make every object completely unique.
How long will my candle burn?
Burn time depends on size, wick, and how you burn it. As a guide: smaller candles burn fewer hours; larger jars burn longer. For best results, follow the candle care tips below.
Tip for longevity: To maximize burn time, always let the liquid wax pool reach the edges of the vessel during the first burn. This prevents "tunneling." Always trim the wick to about 5mm before every lighting.
Can I reuse the vessel after the candle burns out?
Yes, absolutely! We highly encourage repurposing your Jesmonite vessel once your candle finishes.
How to clean it: Scoop out the leftover wax with a spoon (warm water can help loosen it, but do not soak the vessel). Wipe the inside clean with a paper towel and a little mild soap. You can then reuse it as a planter, stationery holder, makeup brush organizer, or trinket dish.
Are the Jesmonite items waterproof or food-safe?
No. While our items are sealed to resist moisture and wax, Jesmonite is a porous material and is not completely waterproof (it should not hold standing water). They are also not food-safe and should never be used in the microwave, oven, or dishwasher. Clean them only by wiping with a damp cloth.
