With UDP being disabled, you will have to wait for a viewer update for that to be fixed (and also the changing clothes issue). We don't know how long that will be due to the dev being in hiding for her own safety.

The only fix is an update to Lumiya. From what I heard when I went digging is the author Alina is Russian and missing from SL. Not answering email or logging in. Last update to the viewer was more than a year ago. I can't find the source code anywhere. Presumably it was proprietary.

Lumiya Viewer Apk Cracked Apps

I've been attending the TPV Meetings for a while (as well as the Meet the Lindens) and I can assure you it's no rumor. Here is the most recent information I know of on the progress of the LL mobile apps. Oz also did say that Android was coming as well.

Barbie, your best option is to use a laptop or a desktop computer for SL. If you have a Chromebook, some people have said it's possible, if you have some skills, to install Linux and use a Linux SL viewer.

Actually you don't. The Lumiya app is old and out of date. There is nothing we can do to update it. It is not broken. So, there is no fix. The lindens have added features to SL and removed old features the Lumiya viewer depended on. Lumiya simply is NOT supported by the SL system.

It does seem a bit daft to miss out on the obvious demand for an android based viewer. This is especially true now that phones have sufficient power to run the graphics of SL. It is ironic that, apart from the issues reported above, I am getting a better experience now on Lumiya than I ever did with my new S10+

lumiya isnt gone and i plan on updating this in the future and reproposing the idea at a later date with optimizations added that i plan to do with a version of its apk ive been working with and modifying/making better to its orignal creator or that of the person who owns its copyright claims

Please take a moment to consider if this thread is worth bumping.QuestionDiana TyranPosted February 16, 2018Diana TyranResident  21Share Posted February 16, 2018 The mobile client Lumiya for Android is no longer on the supported 3rd party viewer list _Party_Viewer_Directory . What's the story behind that? Is it still safe to use?

I don't keep up with mobile or text viewers any more. I use Google's Remote Desktop to access SL from my phone. It is a bit of a PITA, but it works well and is free. Not all that bad. I need a stylus and the Hackers keyboard for it to work. My fingers are too big for the S8's screen and the nails make it even more difficult. A tablet will run Remote Desktop and would be ideal, IMO.

*pokes* still no answer from the lab why they removed it? as its the only mobile viewer its a loss.... i would like to know if the viewer is safe to use (iv used it a lot but dare not download it again until i know its safe). SL is a social platform and it obviously needs an app imo...

That list of Third Party Viewers is not an "approved" list. Linden Lab does not put viewers on the list. The creators of the viewers do that themselves by self-certifying that their viewers conform to acceptable standards. There are some viewers that are perfectly safe to use but not on the list, simply because their designers have decided not to self-certify. The confusing part is that many viewer are also not on the list because they are unsafe, so you can't tell which ones are which. As Monti says, Lumiya has been around for a long time and has been reliable. It's likely that it is missing from the list now because its own designers have removed it.

Per Diana above, the viewer was removed from the TPV list by a Linden last fall. Also according to above, the creator has now been banned from SL (confirmed by the fact that the user's profile is no longer available). However, the creator being banned does not specifically imply that there are issues with the viewer. Even though it is not on the TPV list, if it can connect, then LL has not banned the viewer itself and thus it should be safe to use.

The problem is the SL servers can not reach into your computer and see which viewer you are running. The SL servers are dependent on the viewer to tell them which viewer it is. So, when a hacker wants to scam you they build their own version of a viewer and simply have it lie. Sometimes the user's behavior reveals they are using a 'lying' viewer. But, it is the user that gets blocked not the viewer.

The viewer hasn't hasn't been banned from accessing the grid i've used it today so i would consider it safe to use. i've not heard a single thing as to why the viewer is no longer on the TPV or the creator is banned. it's the only android viewer worth bothering with so i do hope it doesn't get banned

So, while any new downloads of the viewer might or might not be questionable, if you can log on with an existing download (that has not been updated since last fall), then that would imply that LL did not ban the viewer (since that version would likely not be lying to LL about who/what it is) - correct?

Sort of... but, the point is the SL servers only know what the viewer tells them. So, today I can compile a new viewer and have it tell the SL servers it is an older version. So, you're still reading too much into the process. The Lab's servers cannot distinguish between a lie and the truth. So, if the Lab were to ban Lumiya, a new version just lies and says its some other viewer.

I have used Lumiya for a long time with no problems (that I know of). However, I would be very reluctant to use a viewer that is a) not on the TPV list and b) was created by someone who may have gotten in trouble with LL. We DO NOT KNOW whether that was because she put something dodgy in her viewer, you see. After all, that has happened before.

I had Lumiya ages ago. Got a new phone a while back. I see it's deleted from the app store but people still use it from other sites. Is there a safe download somewhere, or a way to download old apps that have since been removed from the app store?

For me it was one of the best mobile viewers out there for Second Life and OpenSim grids. As many know early last year the Lumiya Viewer was removed from the official Third Party Viewer Directory. Apparently the Lumiya Viewer is still working if you have it installed already.

Lumiya, the popular and impressive SL viewer for Android devices, was removed from Google Play last year, apparently due to a change in Google's policy around apps' use of SMS messages, but it's still available on SlideME, a curated market for Android apps. Since I haven't heard from Lumiya creator Alina Lyvette in many years (despite many attempts to reach her), I checked with SlideME that the app is still indeed available in their store. A rep with the company just confirmed with me that Lumiya is currently "active with downloads" on the platform.

For those unfamiliar with Lumiya, it is an extensive Android client offering all the essential functionality found in the viewer: ability to chat, IM, carry out group functions, manipulate inventory and outfits, manage transactions, interact with objects (including viewing & editing scripts, permissions allowing), teleport to places, view the map, and so on. And, for those who wish a more immersive experience on their android device (providing it has the processing power), Lumiya provides a real-time scene rendering capability, allowing you to see the world and other avatars, touch objects, operate your camera, walk, fly, and so on.

Lumia imaging apps are imaging applications by Microsoft Mobile and formerly by Nokia for Lumia devices built on the technology of Scalado (except for Lumia Panorama which was developed earlier by Nokia originally for Symbian and MeeGo devices). The Lumia imaging applications were notably all branded with "Nokia" in front of their names, but after Microsoft acquired Nokia's devices and services business the Nokia branding was superseded with "Lumia", and often updates included nothing but name changes,[1] but for the Lumia Camera this included a new wide range of feature additions. Most of the imaging applications are developed by the Microsoft Lund division.[2] As part of the release of Windows 10 Mobile and the integration of Lumia imaging features into the Windows Camera and Microsoft Photos applications some of these applications stopped working in October 2015.[3]

These are just a small number of Facebook apps currently available for Nokia Lumia smartphones and will work on all Nokia Lumia smartphones, such as the Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 800, and Nokia Lumia 620.

It's no coincidence that the Lumia's display outshines the competition by such a wide margin, as Nokia made the slate's screen searingly bright in order to make it easier to see outdoors. We were easily able to view Web pages and apps in direct sunlight without having to angle the slate away from the sun. be457b7860
