Our Mission

The Luminosus Research Symposium was founded to empower young scientists by creating an accessible space for research communication, collaboration, and exposure. We provide high school students with opportunity to share their work, learn from peers, and build connections that inspire innovation. Our mission is to nurture curiosity, foster confidence, and help expose the next generation of researchers to meaningful ideas and discoveries.

Our Vision

We aim to bridge the gap between classroom science and real-world discovery through student-led innovation. We believe that high school students have the curiosity, creativity, and potential to contribute meaningfully to the scientific community. By providing a platform for young researchers to present their ideas, collaborate with peers, and engage with mentors, we strive to cultivate a culture of exploration and critical thinking. Our goal is to empower the next generation of scientists to push boundaries, ask bold questions, and illuminate the path forward—turning their curiosity into discoveries that can shape the future.

Meet the Founder

Hannah Sun is a 17-year-old student from Acton, Massachusetts and the founder of the Luminosus Research Symposium. As a student researcher herself, she recognized the importance of creating opportunities for young scientists to share their work and learn from one another. She founded Luminosus to make research more accessible and to help students develop the communication skills needed to translate scientific discoveries into meaningful impact.

Under her leadership, Luminosus has brought together student researchers from multiple countries across three continents, creating a global platform for scientific collaboration and learning.
