Hi, I'm Lukas.
I am Assistant Professor of Finance at the University Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M). My main research interests are macro-finance, financial history, and international finance.
My paper "Golden Fetters or Credit Boom Gone Bust?" has received a revise and resubmit at the Economic Journal Our paper (joint with Lukas Hack (ETH)) "Loanly Governments" has been accepted to the NBER's International Seminar on Macroeconomics
Our paper (joint work with Björn Richter (UPF)) "When Two Become One: Foreign Capital and Household Credit Expansion" is now forthcoming in the Review of Financial Studies (RFS).
My Dissertation was a finalist for the Dissertation Price of the World Economic HistoryCongress 2025 (Lund).
I have received the Add-on Fellowship of the Joachim Herz Foundation for my research on the international financial system of the interwar period. I have received the New Researcher Grant (Jovenes Doctores) of the University Carlos III de Madrid.
