If you want a premium, durable in-ear solution with a 5-year warranty and superior sound isolation for daily listening, choose LUDOS Zenith USB C; if you need a safe, adjustable on-ear headset designed specifically for children's hearing protection and long school sessions, choose yoygerty Upgrade USB Type.
• LUDOS Zenith USB C: Its biggest strength is the robust 5-year warranty and high-quality thermoplastic construction designed for adult durability; its trade-off is that it uses an in-ear design which may not suit those who prefer over-the-head comfort or have larger ear canals.
• yoygerty Upgrade USB Type: Its biggest strength is the built-in volume limiter (85dB/94dB) and soft protein leather earmuffs tailored for growing kids' safety and comfort; its trade-off is the on-ear pressure which might feel less secure for active gaming compared to in-ear seals.
• Who each pick is for: The LUDOS model is ideal for adults seeking a long-term, high-fidelity wired connection for phones and tablets, while the yoygerty option is the clear choice for parents buying gaming headset for big ears needs where safety and fit are paramount for children.
The LUDOS Zenith USB C headphones are engineered as a serious tool for adults and teens who prioritize longevity and audio fidelity over novelty features. At the heart of this device is a commitment to reliability, evidenced by a manufacturer-backed five-year warranty—a rare feature in the budget accessory market. This isn't just a pair of earbuds you expect to replace in six months; the build quality suggests a product meant to last through years of daily commutes, office work, and travel. The enclosure material is a Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), which offers a flexible yet tough shell that resists the wear and tear of being tossed into bags or pockets.
From an audio perspective, these earphones are tuned for clarity and isolation. With a frequency range spanning from 20Hz to 20,000Hz, they cover the full spectrum of human hearing, ensuring that bass notes remain punchy without drowning out the vocals in your favorite podcasts or the highs in your music tracks. The 32-ohm impedance indicates they are optimized for modern smartphones and tablets that drive wired accessories directly without needing external amplification. The "Sound Isolation" feature mentioned in the specs is particularly relevant for anyone looking for a gaming headset for big ears who wants to block out ambient noise without relying on active electronic cancellation. The in-ear placement creates a physical seal that naturally dampens outside sound, allowing you to focus entirely on what you are hearing.

However, this design comes with specific constraints. Because these are in-ear buds rather than over-ear cups, they sit deep inside the auditory canal. For users with very large ear canals or those who find the sensation of having anything inside their ear uncomfortable after a few hours, this form factor might be a dealbreaker. Additionally, the control scheme relies on touch and button inputs on the cable, which requires some dexterity. If you are looking for over ear headphones for big ears, this product simply does not fit that category. It is strictly for those who prefer the discreet, lightweight nature of earbuds but refuse to compromise on the durability and warranty support usually reserved for more expensive gear.
The yoygerty Upgrade USB Type headphones tell a completely different story, one centered squarely on the needs of children, students, and young learners. This device is not trying to compete with audiophile standards; instead, it solves the most pressing problem parents face when buying tech for kids: hearing safety. The defining feature here is the integrated volume limiter, engineered to lock sound levels at either 85dB or 94dB. These figures align with World Health Organization recommendations for preventing hearing damage in young ears. For a parent concerned about their child blasting videos on a Chromebook or tablet during online classes, this specification provides peace of mind that the device itself will not cause permanent harm, regardless of how much the volume knob is turned up.
Comfort is the second pillar of this product's design. Unlike the in-ear LUDOS, these are on-ear headphones featuring memory foam and premium protein leather earmuffs. This combination creates a soft barrier against the head, distributing weight evenly across the top of the skull rather than pressing into the ear canal. The headband is adjustable, stretching to accommodate everything from toddlers to teenagers, making it a versatile investment for a growing family. The description highlights that the earcups swivel flat for storage, a practical detail for backpacks and school bags. The light pink color and circle-shaped drivers give it a distinct aesthetic that appeals to younger users, distinguishing it from the utilitarian brown of the LUDOS.
This headset is perfect for the student who spends hours in front of a screen. The built-in microphone ensures that communication is crystal clear for virtual classrooms or video calls with relatives. However, the on-ear design means there is no physical seal inside the ear like the LUDOS offers. While the "Sound Isolation" capability helps reduce background noise, it won't be as effective as the in-ear model for blocking out loud environments like busy airplanes or construction sites. Furthermore, the materials, while soft, are noted as faux leather and plastic, which may show signs of wear differently than the TPE of the competitor. This product is best suited for stationary or low-movement activities like studying, watching movies, or casual gaming, rather than high-intensity sports or heavy commuting.
• Best for Hearing Safety → yoygerty Upgrade USB Type. The explicit volume limiter at 85dB/94dB makes this the only responsible choice for protecting developing ears.
• Best for Durability & Warranty → LUDOS Zenith USB C. A five-year warranty is a massive advantage over standard consumer electronics, signaling a higher confidence in build quality.
• Best for Noise Blocking → LUDOS Zenith USB C. The in-ear shape with Sound Isolation provides a tighter acoustic seal than the on-ear cups of the yoygerty.
• Best for Long Session Comfort → yoygerty Upgrade USB Type. Memory foam and protein leather on-ear pads generally allow for longer wear times without the fatigue associated with in-ear insertion.
• Best for Active Use/Commuting → LUDOS Zenith USB C. The smaller footprint and secure in-ear fit make them less likely to fall off or get snagged during movement.
• Best for Kids/Students → yoygerty Upgrade USB Type. The adjustable headband, volume limiter, and foldable design are tailored specifically for the school environment.
• Best Audio Fidelity Range → LUDOS Zenith USB C. The 20Hz–20kHz range and 32-ohm impedance suggest a broader, more detailed sound profile suitable for critical listening.
• Best Value for Adults → LUDOS Zenith USB C. The combination of TPE durability and a multi-year warranty offers a longer lifecycle for adult users.
In my opinion, the decision between these two products is almost entirely dictated by who will be wearing them. If you are an adult looking for a reliable, long-lasting pair of with mic headphones for big ears that you can use for years without worry, the LUDOS Zenith USB C is the superior engineering choice. Its 5-year warranty and TPE construction speak to a level of quality assurance that is rare in this price bracket, and the in-ear design offers the isolation needed for focused work or travel. However, if you are shopping for a child, the yoygerty Upgrade USB Type is the only logical option. The volume limiter is non-negotiable for young ears, and the soft, adjustable on-ear design ensures they can wear it comfortably through long study sessions. I would never recommend the LUDOS for a toddler due to the lack of volume limiting, nor would I recommend the yoygerty for an adult who needs maximum noise isolation. Choose based on the user, not the brand.
Yes, both devices feature a native USB-C connector, meaning they plug directly into the latest iPhones, iPads, and Samsung Galaxy S-series devices without requiring any adapters or dongles.
According to the product specifications, the yoygerty model includes a hardware-based volume limiter set to safely lock sound at 85dB or 94dB, adhering to WHO guidelines for children's hearing safety.
The LUDOS in-ear design physically blocks the ear canal, offering passive sound isolation that is generally superior for blocking external noise, whereas the yoygerty on-ear design sits on the pinna and relies on padding to dampen sound slightly.
