Interested in playing indoors at WSCC and St. Johns this winter? Become a LAP member!
The Indoor Committee and LAP Board are actively working behind the scenes to create as many indoor play possibilities as possible and to ensure the sign-up system is fair for everyone. Indoor play opportunities will begin the week of September 29th at two locations: WSCC and St. John’s Lutheran Church. Most of our sign-up process remains the same, however, after much deliberation, there have been a few critical changes. Please read the following sections carefully.
The sign-up process will continue to open on Sundays, but with key distinctions for fairness:
Sunday at 1:00 PM: You are able to sign up for a maximum of 3 time-slots TOTAL for the upcoming week. This limit includes any Round Robin slots. Please refer to the attachment or instructions on how to track the times you have already signed up for.
Sunday at 5:00 PM: You can sign up for additional time-slots for the week. This includes the ability to sign up for multiple time-slots on the same day, once the initial 3-slot window has passed.
In response to requests for partner play opportunities, we are adding a new time-slot called Doubles Ladder.
When: Saturdays from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM.
Start Date: The Doubles Ladder begins on Saturday, October 4th.
Details: The total number of players will be limited to 12 since it is only a one-hour time-slot. You will need to sign up as partners.
Sign-Up Policy: This new time-slot will be considered one of your 3 time-slots available at the 1:00 PM sign-up on Sundays.
Note for Doubles RR: Partner 1 signs up and lists Partner 2 in the comments section. Both individuals must be LAP members.
We have a couple of important updates regarding the Pickleball Den system:
Self-Sign-Up Restriction: Pickleball Den has added a feature that limits you to ONLY signing yourself up. If you encounter any trouble signing up, please reach out immediately to one of our Pickleball Den Administrators for assistance (contact list provided at the end).
Phone Number Request: You can help us improve communication by UPDATING your Pickleball Den account with your current phone number. This would assist us in contacting you by phone or text regarding play availability or changes.
The maximum number of players for WSCC has been changed to 15. This adjustment was made to create a better mix-in environment, ensuring a variety of partners and opponents throughout the time-slot. We strongly encourage players to rotate and mix-in during our organized play time.
Additionally, Monday through Friday, WSCC permits our members to play prior to the 9:00 AM time-slot, provided the gym/court is not already in use. While we will do our best to convey information if times are blocked off, please be aware that we are not responsible for play during that time, and availability is subject to change. The pre-9:00 AM slot is an excellent time for pre-formed groups to play. If you choose to arrive early and are also signed up for the 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM time-slot, please plan to play the entire scheduled time. Leaving early takes a slot away from someone on the waitlist who would have loved to play.
We understand this may be considered the "tough love" part, but we ask that you please adhere to the limit of 3 time-slots on Sundays prior to 5:00 PM. This system was put in place to ensure fairness for all members. We have adopted a NEW POLICY for those who violate the 3-time-slot sign-up limit between Sunday 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM:
First "offense": A verbal or text warning will be issued.
Second "offense": Your name will be removed from the play schedule for the entire week.
We truly do not want this to happen! As always, we are here to assist you in every way possible. PLEASE reach out to one of our club administrators for assistance; we are willing and able to help you understand the new system.
