1. Introduction Lucid ("the App") is an offline-first gallery and file management application developed by Smijith B. ("the Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the App.
2. Data Collection & Processing (100% Offline) Lucid operates entirely on-device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, photos, videos, or documents with external servers, cloud providers, or third parties.
3. Core Features & Permissions To function correctly, Lucid requires specific permissions:
All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Lucid requires this permission to perform deep archive scanning, manage PDFs, and organize your internal storage. The App only accesses files locally and does not upload them to any server.
Facial Recognition & Machine Learning: Lucid utilizes Google ML Kit for on-device face clustering, object labeling, and text extraction (OCR). All machine learning models run locally on your hardware. Facial embeddings and extracted data are stored strictly within the App's local SQLite database and never leave your device.
Biometrics: The App uses the Android Biometric prompt for the Secure Vault and Handoff Lock. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's secure hardware. Lucid does not have access to your fingerprint or face scan data.
4. Third-Party Services The App is built using open-source libraries and Google ML Kit. Because the App operates offline, no user data is sent to these third-party services.
