Study Abroad Advisory Committee
Committee Member
Involved in identifying new areas of demand for prospective study abroad programs.
Provided input on new study abroad program proposals that UC Davis faculty submit during the annual ‘Call for New Programs’ period twice per quarter.
Advised on how to best describe global experiences from a student perspective in three-hour-long meetings through interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and surveys.
Community, Technology, and Sustainability in Nepal Project
Ghachok, Nepal
Assisted in providing a solar dryer for the community of Ghachok and assisted in leading stakeholder meetings and workshops as part of a diverse global team of both UC Davis and Nepali students where we worked remotely for a semester in our own countries and then together for over a month throughout Nepal.
Assisted in developing a comprehensive project report for the cooperatives in the village and presented our team's findings to Kathmandu-based experts.
Conducted several qualitative surveys with homestays and convenience stores throughout the village and subsequently provided an appendix filled with data from my nutrition study regarding the village diet, produce drying preferences, and marketing information with the goal to assist future researchers in reducing pre-packaged food consumption in the village.
CANICA (Centro del Apoyo al niño de la calle de Oaxaca A.C.) Health Practicum
Oaxaca, México - Program: Global Health Inequities
Participated in a hands-on practicum at a non-profit organization that had no political or religious affiliation.
Conducted qualitative surveys with children of different ages and educational levels, created a poster-based curriculum established from health-related areas of interest found in my survey findings, used the educational posters to lead workshops, and presented my project outcomes to health professionals in the Oaxaca City area.
Shadowed CANICA’s resident nutritionist and took part in a clinical rotation at a local hospital’s pediatric emergency department.
RIVER (Recognizing Illnesses Very Early and Responding)
Outreach Director
Led a student-run preventative-health nonprofit organization, collaborated closely with the Presidents and Vice Presidents of the organization, and held bi-weekly meetings with all members.
Recruited professionals for events and meeting talks, established new partnerships with organizations, and continued to maintain these relationships by sending emails, making phone calls, and setting up in-person meetings.
Oversaw the Healthy Heroes program at local underserved elementary schools and planned our yearly FFF event (The Food and Fitness Festival that was unfortunately canceled due to the onset of the current pandemic).

Faculty-led summer abroad program in Porto, Portugal where I took a Luso-Brazilian literature and culture course, a Portuguese language course, and a directed group study course across all of Portugal and Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

Officer: Instrument Manager and Repairman
Oversaw a 300+ member university-affiliated organization and took time to get to know every member.
Led workshops on how to fix and clean various instruments, and also held Q&As for all members as scheduled or upon request.
Worked as a team player with fellow council members through discussions and votes regarding the future of the organization and learned how to plan events from hiring entertainment, to securing event amenities and purchasing insurance premiums for rented venues.
