Using Unlisted Instruments

Update: As of 1/1/21, secret instruments are now listed by default on the site. You no longer need to use the script to access them.

Original Text: You may have heard of the secret instruments on the website. I'm here to say it's all true and no secret!

By using the console, one can switch to instruments that are in the website's code but are unlisted by default.

These instruments were originally a part of the World Update in 2018, but nowadays Jacob_ keeps them hidden like an extra easter egg for the site.

This article will provide the script to unlock all the unlisted instruments on the site so you can use them on the sequencer.

How to add all instruments with effects to the list via console

To keep things simple, I've pasted the most convenient way to access the hidden instruments. Expand the dropdown below to view the code. Please note that the volume sliders and reverb/delay settings will reset to default and that this is only a visual glitch.

First, you should access the browser console. The quickest command is Ctrl+Shift+J (Cmd+Option+J for Mac users).

Then, copy-paste the aforementioned code and hit enter.

The changes will appear in the dropdown menu where you can find the instruments along with their respective volume sliders and reverb settings.

And that should be it! Enjoy the new instruments.

Additional Notes for Unlisted Instruments

While the base commands of obtaining instruments and tweaking their special properties exist, this code renders them obsolete as it is more convenient to access them from the instrument menu like this (as opposed to constantly having to input what you need into the console when you need them).

Developer tools restricted by administrator?

If you are on a school device and developer tools are restricted by administrator, try using Frank’s mirror site of OS—it includes all the unlisted instruments by default.

You can copy your work from the mirror OS sequence to a sequence on the official site, or you can save it as a .txt file on mirror OS and drag it onto the official sequencer like this.
