Welcome!
I am currently a master's student in Chemical & Biochemical Process Engineering at UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro), with a research focus on radiometric analysis in food and the environment. I hold a bachelor's degree in Bioprocess Engineering from UFRJ (2023). I am interested in topics of Environmental radioactivity, radioecology, radioactivity in food and soils, food and crop Science and NORM/TENORM.
Currently, I work at both the Environmental Analysis and Computational Simulation Laboratory (LAASC/COPPE), led by Prof. Dr. Ademir Xavier da Silva, which is affiliated with the Nuclear Engineering Graduate Program (PEN/COPPE), and the Cereal, Root and Tubers Technology Laboratory, led by my formal advisor, Prof. Dr. Eveline Lopes Almeida, associated with the Chemical and Biochemical Process Engineering Graduate Program (EPQB/EQ). Additionally, I collaborate with the Radiobiology and Radiometry Laboratory (LARARA-IB/UFF), which is headed by Prof. Dr. Jardel Lemos Thalhofer.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, I carried out undergrad scientific research activities at the Environmental Analysis and Computational Simulation Laboratory (LAASC/COPPE), in the area of detecting radioactivity in various foods, water, soils, petroleum sludge, drilling fluids, fertilizers, and waste from the Oil and Gas industry contaminated with naturally occurring radionuclides and radioactive materials (NORM/TENORM), and their implications for climate change and human health.
I was a volunteer collaborator (undergraduate level) at IEN/CNEN (Institute of Nuclear Engineering associated with Brazilian National Commission of Nuclear Energy) on the project funded by FINEP, called REATORIEN, with activities related to process monitoring and technical discussions on the modernization of the instrumentation of the Argonauta Reactor and its associated laboratories. From July 2021, I joined the collaboration team of the project focused on applications of neutron imaging and the radiation detection system, until July 2023.
In addition to my research goals, I have pursued entrepreneurial initiatives and international social integration (fostering international connections and cross-cultural exchange). More details about my professional non-academic experiences can be found on my LinkedIn profile.
Beyond, I like lifting weights in my free time.
