Welcome!
My name's Lucas de Carvalho de Amorim. I’m a Political Scientist and Junior Specialist at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Political Science at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil. I hold a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Brasília (UnB).
My work explores how political elites define agendas, make decisions, and shape attitudes, with some of my research focusing specifically on source cues, political skepticism, and different forms of polarization. I’m also interested in political participation, participatory institutions, associative networks, and public health. In short, I study how ideas travel, how they influence people’s political behavior, and how democratic engagement is shaped in polarized contexts.
