Hello, I'm passionate about Development Economics. Living in the Global South has its advantages and disadvantages. I'll focus on the former. Working, consuming, voting, and raising children in a developing country provides firsthand exposure and experience, which I believe are essential for conducting relevant research. Furthermore, I have the freedom to explore topics I consider important using the best possible methodology. I collaborate with economists, lawyers, political scientists, sociologists, and urban planners to study diverse issues affecting well-being, such as the application and enforcement of labor standards, migration and assimilation, shanty towns and discrimination, trust and reciprocity, political clientelism and Weberian bureaucracies, trade unions and social movements, informal housing and land-use regulation, teachers' strikes and education, and social capital and health.
I would have liked to investigate how politics is financed in Latin America and its links with the gambling and drugs business, but I prefer to study other less relevant topics and continue enjoying life 😁.
