I am Luca Cigna, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) in Cologne and PhD graduate at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence.  

I am interested in:

• The politics of labor market policy in Europe, with a focus on why trade unions protect precarious workers in labor market and welfare reforms;

• Green industrial policy and how organized interests influence the politics of a green transition.

My work has appeared on several outlets, including New Political Economy, Regulation and Governance, Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of European Social Policy, and the European Journal of Industrial Relations.
