I am Luca Cigna, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) in Cologne and PhD graduate at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence.  

In my research, I focus on:

• Why trade unions protect precarious workers in labor market and welfare reforms;

• How organized interests (farmers, business associations) influence the politics of a green transition.

My work has appeared on several outlets, including New Political Economy, Regulation and Governance, Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of European Social Policy, and the European Journal of Industrial Relations.
