Hello!
My name is Luca Plitz. I was born and raised in Arizona, but have since moved to New York to follow my passion for design and fabrication.
My journey started when I was 8 years old, watching How to Train your Dragon for the first time on the big screen. My favorite part was the ending, watching the credits roll and the beautiful sketches start appearing in the background. As a kid I could not understand how people were able to come up with something so imaginative and beautiful. That was the moment I fell in love with drawing. I wanted to become a part of the process, and although it took a lot of trying and messing up and trying again, I realized pursuing art as a career was the right move.
I'm looking for a work environment that encourages collaboration with a team; that is very valuable to me. Stop motion fabrication, scene painting, model work, and prop making all interest me, although I will not hesitate to jump on any project that will let me learn new skills.
I enjoy reading, drawing, playing games, and designing creatures and characters in my spare time. I love facing unique challenges and coming up with solutions; it's why design, crafts, and fabrication resonate with me so much! I feel that as creators, we have a unique responsibility to send messages through our work, to inspire and lead the world forward. The arts are so important for people to experience. We get to tell people how to love life and have fun, and sometimes when words aren't enough, we tell people the things they need to hear. I love what I do, and I will always want to figure out how to make things happen.
Best,
