So, you want to know a little bit more about me? Well, don't mind if I do. But first, let's make sure you know how to contact me if you want to connect further. You can email me at lucabixler@gmail.com, or shoot me a message on LinkedIn.
Now that that's out of the way...
I'm Luca, a writer and content strategist. I grew up in San Francisco, California, but six years ago I moved all the way to Georgia to go to a little liberal arts college called Agnes Scott. Despite the extra-special experience of college during a pandemic, I somehow made it through with a creative writing degree and some great experiences-- my favorite of which being my involvement in our annual Writers' Festivals, where I got to meet and learn from (and gawk at) ultra-inspiring authors.
Since graduating, I've paid the bills by working in food service, but have been freelance assisting small businesses on the side; copywriting, web development, social media, whatever they need. This past fall, I was offered a longterm position with The Davy Agency and ReTech Gurus, two small businesses founded by Davy Pelletier. Through this new partnership, I've honed my skills especially in social media management, as well as search engine optimization and email marketing.
Freelancing has allowed me to learn a little bit of everything from a little bit of everyone; I've gotten to help all kinds of businesses market themselves, from landscapers to coffee shops to real estate agents. While I've enjoyed diversifying myself and keeping things interesting, I'm ready to settle down into a full-time position. An agency, or corporate--I'm open to anyone who'll have me. I just want to put my creativity to use, helping clients get noticed in the ever-changing age of the internet.
When I'm not working, I run a writing group with some local writers every Sunday night. I also love reading, everything from classic novels and poetry to fanfiction and manga. My current reads are I do Know Some Things by Richard Siken and The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith. I also love to try new sports and activities, despite my general lack of coordination. Right now I'm trying out bouldering. Lastly, I like learning about urbanization and pushing for more walkability in American cities. Rather than a car, you'll find me zipping around Atlanta on my Gazelle T-9 E-bike, pretending I'm in Amsterdam.
