NEST (Nano Electronic Structures & Technology) Lab, where great ideas incubate and grow, is led by principal investigator Dr. Theda Daniels-Race. NEST research focuses on the fundamental nanoscale electronic and optical properties of semiconductor and hybrid electronic materials. Research students use characterization techniques such as atomic force microscopy, fluorescence and Raman spectroscopies, as well as a plethora of custom-designed benchtop experimental instrumentation for materials synthesis and thin-film deposition. Dr. Race and her team develop structures, from the nanoscale (2-D materials) to the hand-held (batteries), for next-generation electronic devices.Â
