Sheriff- The Sheriff is the highest rank in the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff [Jackson Foxtrot] is primarily in charge of everything
Undersheriff - The Undersheriff is the second highest rank in BCSO and this is the most senior rank other than the sheriff, the Undersheriff [Vacant] takes over when the sheriff is unavailable and assists in any decision making.
Asst. Sheriff - There can only be up to three Assistant Sheriffs at one time and because of this, this rank is very important. If the Sheriff or Undersheriff are unreachable then the Assistant Sheriff(s) [VacantX3] are in charge. They also assist the Sheriff & Undersheriff in their duties. These officers are chosen by the Sheriff and only the Sheriff.
Division Chief - there is one Division Chief [Vacant] to each division and is the officer that is in charge of that division following orders from senior officers. The division chief makes all decisions regarding the division they are in charge of assisted by their captain. These decisions may be anything from who is in the division, training, performance all the way to moral or promotions. However the entire operation is over seen by the senior officers & sheriff. The Division chief is chosen by the Sheriff and only the Sheriff.
Captain - Captains are in charge of all officers in their division under them and maintain good morale and also handle any major problems within that division. Lieutenants assist the captain in their duties and the Captain assists the Division chief.
Lieutenant - Lieutenant is the first senior officer promotion that comes with increased responsibility however they still act as a supervisor to all ranks below. Lieutenants are in charge of groups of deputies and perform inspection over them, they also answer to the Captain of that division and will attend meetings to discuss performance of officers, what required, any problems, etc..
Sergeant - Sergeant is the first major promotion and supervise officers below. This means that sergeants can over watch officers and also assist any officer that requires help. Sergeants show good leadership and communications skills. To be promoted to this rank you must have already been promoted to Corporal
Corporal- is the first promotion an officer in the BCSO can make, it shows that the officer is experienced and gains authority over standard deputies. The rank of corporal is an achievement among officers showing the dedication the officer has put into the BCSO and corporals gain seniority over standard officers
Sheriff's Deputy - A Sheriff's Deputy is the first rank in the BCSD that all members who apply to join become after initial training from Cadet. Deputies are the heart to the BCSD and don’t have a rank or insignia however they do have a blank epaulette. At this rank you are able to apply for any division after training but will first be put into General Duty.
