Students will learn to:
Plant, maintain, and harvest produce
Build a garden bed in a variety of ways
Use basic hand and power tools
Use the square foot gardening method to plant, developed by Mel Bartholomew
Understand succession planting for longer harvesting
Determine proper pest management, organically
Plant trees properly for deep root watering
Prune trees, shrubs, and bushes
Prepare fresh, healthy meals
Work as a team in a variety of groups
Possibly, lead or manage a group
De-stress and relax
Make new friends
Develop lifelong skills
Support your school and community
Earn Community Service hours and/or turn them into elective credits, when you do work outside of classtime and in the garden.
Weekend and Break opportunities:
Preserve an abundance of fruits and veggies
Canning, pickling, & make jams
Learn the parts of having a business (grow, make, and sell products)
