Brendan Lasso grew up in the quiet town of North Yankton, raised by a mother who taught at the local middle school and a father who flew for the airlines. His mom’s patience and compassion shaped his character, while his dad’s love for aviation sparked a lifelong hobby and a spirit of adventure. 

After high school, Brendan enrolled at the University of Los Santos, where he majored in Public Safety Administration and minored in Emergency Management. While pursuing his education, he began volunteering at a local fire company. What began as serving the community he lived in quickly evolved into a life-defining purpose. He found meaning in the chaos, structure in the urgency, and camaraderie in the crew. Brendan knew he had found his path. Upon graduation, Brendan joined the fire service full-time. Over the years, he worked his way up the ranks as a firefighter, captain, and battalion chief. He built a reputation for being level-headed under pressure, dedicated to his team, and deeply committed to community safety. 

Brendan emphasized mentorship and operational readiness at every level, believing that leadership begins with service and that no role is too small when lives are on the line.

Now serving as Fire Chief, Brendan Lasso leads with humility, experience, and a people-first mindset. His approach blends tradition with progress, combining tried-and-true methods with a modern vision for training, safety, and community outreach. Whether overseeing multi-agency responses or spending time at the firehouse connecting with new recruits, Chief Lasso brings the same energy, integrity, and focus to every moment.
