Formally trained in acting, directing, vocal music, choral conducting, piano, drawing, and water colors, Eric is a multi-faceted artist, performer, and educator.
Now celebrating his 24th year at LSC-K (34th year in arts education), Eric serves as Professor of Theatre & Humanities. As Artistic Director of Theatre at LSC-K, he has received state, regional, and national recognition for his directing & producing.
His stage work has been seen in Texas, New Mexico, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and California. He has toured with concert productions across the United States, Canada, and abroad in Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, and Italy.
Eric is frequently seen as emcee for events at Lone Star College. He is in high demand as a UIL One-Act Play critic judge and also serves as a Kennedy Center-American College Theatre Festival production respondent.
He is co-author of Acting Across the Disciplines, a textbook designed for beginning actors. It teaches acting concepts that are applicable to everyday life in the classroom, boardroom, church, or any public speaking venue.
Eric earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting & Directing from Texas Tech University in 2003. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Education. He taught theatre, music, art, and speech in the Texas Public Schools for 7 years – teaching all grades in K-12.
Meredith Taylor joined the Lone Star College-Kingwood Theatre family in June of 2023 as Technical Director. The Liberty, TX native and LSC-K alum holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Theater & Design from Lamar University.
She comes from Angelina College where she directed, designed, and built productions, as well as worked with professional touring artists through the Angelina Arts Alliance.
Her directing credits include Grease: The Musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Holmes and Watson, and Still Life with Iris. Her most recent design credits include: 9-to-5: The Musical, Wait Until Dark, and A Golden Fleecing.
Meredith volunteers regularly with the Valley Players of Liberty, designing and teaching student stagehands in different areas of production. She lives with her adopted poodle named Annie.
