My name is Howie, and I am a Golden Retriever. I have had quite the life filled with many adventures with tales that can be passed on for generations. I decided to get on here and invite you guys into my next class. Yes... I said class. I decided a few months ago to start a class where the puppies from around the neighborhood can come and hear some of the journeys that I have been on. I hope to teach them something one day that they can apply to their own lives, and I mean who doesn't love some good stories as well? I have to go now. Class is about to begin but feel free to just sit in and listen! (:
Come gather around, little ones. Class is about to start, and I want all of you on your best behavior. We have a lot of good material to cover today, and I'm very excited to share some of my life stories with you from when I was a wee little pup. Jimmy, stop biting your brother's ear. We all know biting is not nice. Anyway, let's begin. I'll start with introducing myself.
For those of you who do not know me, my name is Howie. I was born in Florida but moved to Texas with my human family when I was just ten weeks old. I never got to see much of Florida but from what I remember it was hot and there was water everywhere. Although, I tried some of the water sometime and it wasn't all too great. It had a very weird taste to it, so I wouldn't recommend. Anyways, my human family took me from my real family when I was very young. I was sad at first, but I really love my masters. We moved into a small house here in this quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Dallas, Texas.
My owners are named Reece and Lindsey. When I was just one year old, they somehow got a baby. It just popped out of nowhere one day and to be honest, it was not my favorite. The baby was a boy named Luis and let me tell you, sometimes I wish Luis went back to where he came from. As Luis grew older, he would tug on my ears and pull my tail. I would be fast asleep and here would come Luis yanking my ears again. He was kind of cute though but also sort of traumatizing to say the least.
I loved my owners, but they started to get really busy with work. I would sit at the front door for hours and hours each day waiting for them to return from work. When they finally got home, they would put all of their attention to Luis and it really started to take a toll on me. They also decided to get a cat named Tom. We were the best of buds at first but eventually couldn't take the lack of attention anymore. I'll speak more on this in my first story. One day, Tom and I came up with a plan, and I ended up leaving home. I decided I needed to leave my house and see what else the world had to offer. When Reece let me outside one morning to use the restroom, I decided it was my time. It was my time to escape under the fence and see what the outside world was like.
I am going to tell all of you about some of the adventures and critters I met while on my trip. However, I do not recommend leaving your homes for the outside world. As someone that has done it before, I promise you all that it is not all that it seems. There's no better place like home than your own house and yard! After all, a dog is a man's best friend.
Let's see.... where should I begin. Oh, I know!
