(ii) Venue & Schedule:
The venue for the talks is Seminar Room 21, 2nd Floor, VMCC. It is equipped for a chalkboard talks, as well as beamer presentations. We urge the speakers to let us know which they prefer, and share the slides in case of beamer presentations, a day before, to minimise last-minute glitches. Each poster will be displayed for two days on the 2nd Floor Foyer, VMCC. As a variation to the traditional model of poster displays, each poster presenter will be given time slots during the poster sessions, when they are expected to be present to answer queries, if any. The schedule for the talks and the poster displays is available under the appropriate tab.
(iii) Getting to IITB:
Counters for Pre-paid taxi, Uber and Ola (another app-based taxi service), Meru Cabs are all available at the airport, after baggage claim, before you exit the secure area. They may also have counters outside the secure
area. You can mention your destination to be “IIT, Powai”. For Ola and Uber, if you can book on your own, and know where to go (you come out on level P6), you need not go to the counter. Pre-paid taxis are almost always available, and have a fixed fare which you pay at the counter. For those coming to Mumbai airport, or by train to LTT, if you are comfortable with it, auto-rickshaws are also available, which run “by meter”. If they don’t, it’s best to avoid.
(iv) Gate passes & Wifi access:
Gate passes have been generated, and shared with you by email. They are valid from 11th - 16th June, and are supposed to be scanned each time you enter and exit campus, when asked. Campus wifi can be accessed (wherever available) by using the conference user id and password, which has been shared with you over email.
(v) Weather:
The IMD predicts that monsoon is soon to hit Mumbai, and if it does, expect it to be very wet. You may want to carry umbrellas. When not raining, it is usually hot and humid. For those curious, you may see the advent of the monsoon by clicking on https://mausam.imd.gov.in/responsive/monsooninformation.php (Mumbai is on the left coast, between the red lines which say 10th June, and 15th June).
