Miss Katie
Miss Katie has been the director and lead instructor of the Loch Raven Dance Troupe for 18 years. Although, this is her 30th year as a member of the troupe since she started dancing with LRDT at 10 years old. Miss Katie has been directing shows since 2006. That makes this year her 20th LRDT recital as Director. Miss Katie has directed Dream TV- 2006, Wizard of Oz-2007, Grease-2008, Sound of Music-2009, Sleeping Beauty & Michael Jackson Tribute-2010, Beauty and the Beast & Broadway-2011, Peter Pan-2012, Tangled-2013, Hairspray-2014, Aladdin-2015, Grease-2016, Wizard of Oz-2017, Beauty and the Beast-2018, The Little Mermaid-2019, Peter Pan-2020, High School Musical-2021, The Lion King-2022, The Greatest Showman-2023, and Hairspray- 2024. She started dancing when she was two years old at DJ's Dance Studio and later became a member of the studio's invitational performance group. After eight years with DJ's, Miss Katie started dancing and assisting at LRDT where she continued training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Pointe. Miss Katie is a Middle School Math teacher and Math Department Chair at Immaculate Conception School. She is honored to be able to work in the community where she grew up.
Miss Jaya
Miss Jaya has been with the Loch Raven Dance Troupe for 15 years as a dancer, teacher, and now co-director. She has been an instructor for the past seven years, returning even when away at college during the summer sessions and on school breaks. Since returning from college, Miss Jaya has taught during 2020-2021 for High School Musical and lead the troupe as co-director in 2021-2022 for The Lion King, 2022-2023 for The Greatest Showman, and 2023-2024 for Hairspray. Jaya began dancing at six years old, and has taken classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Modern, Lyrical, Liturgical and Pointe. In college, she was a member of the dance team where she served on the executive board for three years holding the positions of Treasurer, Assistant Chairperson and Chairperson. Miss Jaya teaches Pointe, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. She also directs, choreographs, and teaches acting scenes and character dances for the recitals.
Miss Jess
Miss Jess has been teaching dance with the Loch Raven Dance Troupe for 16 years. She started taking dance classes with LRDT under the instruction of Miss Earline Kelly at the age of 5. Her favorite style of dance is Jazz. Ms. Jess loves all things Disney, Harry Potter, and the Baltimore O’s!
Miss Raquel
This will be Raquel’s fourth year teaching with the troupe. However, she danced with the troupe for 13 years and assisted for seven of those years. Raquel took a break from dance while in college, but she is very excited to be back teaching the younger dancers again this year!
Gabby is 20, and a junior at Loyola University Maryland. She has been with the troupe since she was two years old, assisting for seven of those years. Gabby takes Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Pointe. Gabby also danced on Parkville High School's dance company for four years and is casted as the Snow Queen in this winter's invitational production of "The Nutcracker"!
Miss Zoe
Zoe is a sophomore at Towson University where she is studying Nursing. Before graduating from high school in 2024, she had been dancing with LRDT since she was 3. Zoe took Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Pointe, and Ballet & Jazz Technique while dancing with the troupe and assisted for five years. Zoe dances on 'Fusion'. a student-led dance team through Towson University. She has enjoyed performing and competiting with her team and building friendships through dance. Zoe played the role of Tracy Turnblad in the LRDT 2024 Recital, 'Hairspray'. Miss Zoe is thrilled to be back at LRDT teaching Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop this summer.
Miss Phoebe
Phoebe is a recent graduate of Loch Raven High School where she graduated in the top 5% of her class . She will be studying Biology in the Fall at University of Maryland: College Park. Phoebe has been dancing with LRDT since she was 3. During her time with the troupe, she took Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Pointe, and Ballet & Jazz Technique. Phoebe was an Asistant Intructor for four years and this is her first summeras an instructor. She played the role of Rapunzel in the LRDT 2025 Recital, 'Tangled'. Miss Phoebe is so excited to teach Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Pre-Pointe this summer.
