- To provide excellent library and information services responsive to the academic and intellectual needs of the HSS community.
- To make available to students and faculty a collection of materials that will enrich and support the curriculum of the school.
- To encourage reading in the community by providing interesting reading materials.
- To enrich the HSS LRC collections such as books and periodicals.
- To provide a friendly atmosphere to which student and faculty will enjoy coming and utilizing the library and its resources.
- To continually assess the competence of personnel, the effectiveness of the library and information system and the relevance of its administration policies and procedures.

- To select and acquire library materials to support all academic and concerns of the school;
- To prepare these materials for use through cataloging, classification, indexing and preservation;
- To guide students in their choice of books and other instructional materials for personal and curricular purposes;
- To foster love for books and to develop a wide range of significant interest in the proper use of books and other instructional materials;
- To motivate in every possible way the formation of a lifetime habit of reading much and reading well;
- To encourage reading on the part of the Students, Faculty and Staff for personal and professional growth and for enjoyment;
- To encourage social attitudes and provide experience in gracious, well-balanced and democratic living;
- To work cooperatively and constructively with the instructional and administrative staff of the school.
