To play a Conflagration Mission you will need the following:
A deck of Conflagration Mission Cards, ideally one per player but opponents can play by sharing a single deck. You can use standard playing cards by using the following reference.
Six objective markers, ideally numbered.

ROLL FOR DEPLOYMENT MAP - see below for the details of Primus, Secundus and Tertius deployment maps.
PICK OBJECTIVE MARKERS - After the deployment of any terrain, determination of the deployment zones and rolling for Strategic Initiative the players alternate picking three objective markers each to deploy. The player who DOES NOT have Strategic Initiative picks the first marker.
PLACE OBJECTIVE MARKERS - Player then alternate deploying their markers to the table, starting with the player who DOES NOT have Strategic Initiative. Objectives are placed as follows:
Place one of your objective markers wholly within your own deployment zone and at least six inches away from any board edge.
Alternate placing the remaining objective markers, outside of either player's deployment zone, and at least 6" away from a deployment zone boundary, 6" away from any table edge and at least 12" away from any other deployed objective marker.
DRAW CONFLAGRATION CARDS - Deal each player three cards from the Conflagration Card Deck or, if each player has their own deck, draw the top three cards from your own deck. Players may review their cards at this point. It's not essential, but tactically sound, to keep your cards secret from your opponent!
Continue with deployment, Seize the Initiative and Game Start as for standard Age of Darkness Missions.
Conflagration Missions are a minimum of four turns but can be played up to six. Players should decide at the start of the game how many turns to play for.
Conflagration Missions are scored based on the player meeting the scoring conditions on one or more of the cards in their hand. For the purposes of doubles or team games, the card limits apply for the whole team. In these rules, when you read "player" it can also means "team" in all cases. There are no Secondary Objectives to score in Conflagration Missions. Players can score multiple cards from their hand in a turn and can score multiple cards from one set of conditions if it satisfies all of the cards that the player wishes to score. The ONLY way to score Victory Points in Conflagration Missions is by achieving the conditions on a Conflagration card in your hand.
Players each start with three cards
Players may have a maximum of four cards in their hand at anytime.
Players receive one new card from the top of the Conflagration Deck in the Effects Sub Phase of the Start Phase in their Player Turn, from Turn 2 onwards, as long as the number of Conflagration Cards in their hand is less than four.
From Turn 1, if a player does not score/play any cards in the Victory Sub Phase, they may discard one card and draw a replacement card from their Conflagration Deck immediately.
The mechanisms for controlling and contesting objectives are as set out on page 308 in the Age of Darkness 3rd Edition Rulebook. The VPs scored for the "None Shall Pass" cards and the "Into the Breach" cards are modified by Line, Vanguard, Support, Comptroller and any other Special Rule or Trait that effects VPs gained from Objectives. In the printed card decks, cards that allow their VPs to be modified by Special Rules have "SR" marked in the top left of the card.
1. You have a Legion Tactical Squad with the Line (2) Special Rule Controlling Objective 1 and score the None Shall Pass card for Objective 1. You would score 2 VPs for the card plus 2 additional VPs because of the Line Special Rule.
2. Your Assault Squad, with the Vanguard (2) Special Rule, defeats and Routs an enemy unit that was within 3" of Objective 4 in your turn and you score the Into the Breach card for Objective 4. You would score 1 VP for the card plus 2 additional VPs for meeting the requirements of the Vanguard Special Rule.
3. You score the No Mercy! card in your Victory Sub Phase. You score 3 VPs in your Victory Sub Phase but no additional VPs from any Special Rule.

Each card will describe the Victory Points (VPs) you can gain for scoring the card, the conditions for scoring the card. This may include "instead" scoring conditions usually for more VPs. Note that in all cases a card can only be scored against one set of criteria it sets out.
The number in the top right is the card number in the deck and has no affect on gameplay. The "SR" in the top left of the card indicates that card scoring is modified by Line, Vanguard, Support, Comptroller and any other Special Rule or Trait that effects VPs gained from Objectives.
You can play Conflagration without our printed deck of cards. You will need a set of playing cards and this reference page for how to map the playing cards to the Conflagration cards.
The player with the most VPs at the end of the final turn is the winner. If both players have the same number of VPs, the game result is a draw.
Conflagration Games are normally a minimum of four turns but players can play any number of turns they wish within the timed constraints of the event. If a game ends because one player/team has been tabled, stop the game at the point that the last model is removed and total the scores. There are no further opportunities for scoring after this point.
